Sugarfield Memory is one of those paintings that just poured out of me; an explosion of joy, nostalgia, and wild energy on a 70 x 70 cm canvas. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing in a sunlit field where everything is too bright, too beautiful, almost dreamlike. Layers of dripping paint mingle with flashes of hot pink and orange, as if the colours themselves are remembering a perfect summer day. I often paint intuitively, letting emotion lead rather than logic, and this piece felt like chasing a memory that’s slipping through your fingers, sweet, fleeting, and full of color. Painted in acrylic and oil on canvas, it’s all about movement, energy, and that spark of happiness that art can bring into a space.
