Original artwork description:

This is a full-scale sketch of a girl that I completed in a couple of hours while studying at the Academy of Painting. We did such tasks quite often to train our eye and hand for integral vision. Very often the painters gaze begins to focus on the details, forgetting about the whole. This leads to the loss of the integrity of the form, and the model becomes barely recognizable. To prevent this from happening, the artist tries to look as if he were not looking at the model I’m next to, or paints the face at the nodes, or key points, two eyes and a nose at the same time. The model was painted in artificial warm light, which makes it possible to work with a rather limited palette and tonal relationships.

Materials used:

Oil
