This oil seascape with a sail boat venturing between the sea and the night sky is a vague view from within the world of the painting. Stormy sea waves finally give up and offer hope to a lonely vessel, and the gleam of the moon over water indicates the right way. The painting has very rich colors, emphasizing the standoff between a ship traveling in the night and the endless body of roiling blue-and-white.
The story I depicted in this oil painting is very characteristic for classic impressionism; the stormy particles distort and blur the colors, the lights and the shadows in the open sea.
