This painting is inspired by the breathtaking alpine landscape of Antholzer See (Lake Anterselva), nestled in the Rasun Anterselva region of South Tyrol, Italy. The scene immediately captured my attention with its almost dreamlike stillness — a delicate balance between towering mountains, lush greenery, and the glass-like reflections of the lake below.
What truly drew me in was the way the clouds mirrored so softly on the water, creating a feeling of calm and quiet stillness between the mountains. My intention with this painting was to focus on these reflections, while also celebrating the beautiful contrast between light and shadow, deep greens, and bright, sunlit foliage. The playful branches in the foreground — with their soft leaves — add a gentle rhythm to the composition and help guide the viewer’s eye inward, creating a sense of depth and space.
