- Still life with artichoke and anemones
Original artwork description
This still life, in a sense, has become an experiment for me. Usually, before starting work, I can more or less imagine what result I want to get in the end. But this time I decided to rely on intuition. Initially, I started from the artichoke and a bouquet of purple anemones, supplementing the canvas space with additional details during the process. So a golden tray appeared in the background and, in contrast to it, silver foil. I like the combination of cold and warm metallic sheen, which also blends intricately with purple and yellow. Perhaps this choice of colors is a bit dramatic, but this was a kind of artistic challenge for me. I tried to avoid a direct realistic depiction of space and perspective in favor of the creative vision. At the same time, I wanted the still life to maintain integrity and its logic. In this sense, I based on the experience of a classical approach in painting.
