For me – as a figurative artist – observing people in different situations is often the starting point from which my paintings are created.

Sometimes even seemingly banal situations or poses in which people find themselves are inspiring. Because they always hide a whole set of questions that provoke my imagination to think about the explanation of what I see with my eyes, but also about what may be hidden and what may be happening inside the person being observed.

Thus, one situation that I witness can evoke a number of different explanations, justifications, causes and possible future developments of the story.
This is actually another meaning of my works - in addition to their decorative function - to encourage the viewer's imagination to search for their own explanations and various possible future storylines of the story they see in the painting.

The viewer thus co-creates their own variants of the stories of the characters on the canvas. And there can be infinitely many of them. Thanks to this, the characters on the canvas come to life and the painting becomes a living part of the interior.

This painting captures a thoughtful pair of characters. Symbolically, it is called Stairs. Why? Because, in my opinion, this couple has found themselves at a point in their relationship where both actors need to consider what will happen next, how to maintain themselves in the existing relationship. Whether to take a break, end it or continue it. The stairs indicate that there is an opportunity to advance in the relationship higher, to a qualitatively better level.

However, how the story of this couple will ultimately end is decided by the viewer. For now, all possibilities are open....

Due to its size, content and form of depiction, the painting is suitable not only for home, but also for work interiors.
