Original artwork description
Frederick Douglass was an African-American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman. After escaping from slavery in Maryland, he became a national leader of the abolitionist movement in Massachusetts and New York, becoming famous for his oratory and incisive antislavery writings.
"Spirit of Frederick" is a one of a kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint on Dura-Lar 5 mil artist mylar mounted on tempered masonite. For this work, the portrait and newspapers were graphically reproduced and laminated to the mylar surface. The remainder of the work was produced with acrylic paint and india ink.
I only sell original work so there will only be one original.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on tempered masonite with a two inch wide painted border. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall. It can be on your wall within five minutes. For overseas purchasers, the painting will be shipped "rolled in a tube" and the shipping price will be reduced.
