South of Silence I
12" x 24" | Original oil and pencil on deep-edge canvas

There's a stillness I keep coming back to. The kind that finds you when you're very small in front of something very vast.
I felt it standing before a glacier in Patagonia. The cobalt of the ice, the silence so ancient and alive, the way it held me. Some of it I'm still finding words for, so instead I painted.
Built in slow oil layers, brush and palette knife, pencil drifting softly through. The deep blue sits at the top, held like something cherished. Below, everything softens and opens.
It's about how it feels to stop holding it all in and simply be there, breathing. There is something sacred in the sensual, and something powerful in being fully yourself, and this painting lives in that quiet.
The first half of a diptych. Available on its own or alongside its partner, "South of Silence II". Together they whisper to each other. Apart, each carries its own stillness.
Your painting is signed on the back, comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and is carefully wrapped and insured for safe delivery.
