'South of Silence I & II' are a contemplative duo—two connected works that speak quietly to each other, echoing a sense of stillness, space, and quiet reflection in abstract form.
12” x 24” | Oil and pencil on Deep edge, Gallery wrap Canvas.
Each piece is built up through layered oil paint using both brush and palette knife—letting texture, movement, and softness sit side by side. Pencil lines and subtle marks weave through the surface, adding depth and a trace of the hand behind the work. It’s a slow, intuitive process—layer by layer, responding to the canvas as it shifts and settles.
A response to the stillness and enormity of Patagonia, especially the Perito Moreno glacier. These two works are less about what I saw when I visited and more about what I felt: a kind of deep calm, a hum under the ice, a moment outside of noise.
They invite your own meaning too—open, quiet spaces where you might see your own landscapes, memories, or moods reflected back. Painted slowly, with room for interpretation.
Available for purchase separately (£500 each)
Each original painting is created with professional-grade, light-fast acrylics on gallery-wrapped canvas. The surface is sealed with a clear, UV-protective varnish to preserve colour and texture for decades to come.
Your artwork will arrive:
signed on the reverse or front and accompanied by a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity
wired and ready to hang (no framing required unless you prefer)
carefully wrapped in acid-free paper, cushioned, and boxed for secure, insured delivery
Subtle variations in colour can occur between screens and real life; every effort is made to photograph the work accurately. If you have any questions before or after purchase, I’m always happy to help—your confidence and joy in owning the piece matter most.
