Artwork description:

Song of the Isles is a modern abstract landscape born on the clifftops of the Isle of Skye, close to my studio, looking out across the sea to the remote silhouettes of Rona and Raasay. The palette of teal seas and soft ochre light reflects the fleeting moods of the Hebrides, where mist and rain soften the islands into gentle echoes of themselves—impressionistic, half-remembered.

Using a slow-movement technique in-camera, I’ve allowed the lines to drift and dissolve, blurring the boundaries between dream and memory, land and sea. A subtle linen texture overlays the piece, evoking the feeling of looking through rain or woven air.

Printed at 30 x 30 inches with an added 2-inch white border for professional framing. Each print is made entirely by my own hand—from capture to final output—on Canson Rag Photographique, a silky paper that captures an exceptional intensity colour. This museum-grade paper brings out every tone and brush of light. Canson, printers to the French court and trusted by masters like Picasso and Chagall, has been crafting fine papers for over 450 years with an eco-conscious heart.

This is a limited edition, available in bespoke sizes upon request. Please get in touch—I'm happy to help you find the perfect fit for your space.
