A walk along the road through Glen Prosen Scotland, taking a sketchbook and some pastels and pens -this was the start of a couple of paintings using the sketchbook studies. It was a very quiet road, a vehicle occasionally, more often a pheasant or rabbit. Overhead perhaps the cry of a buzzard. Looking back the mountains gradually became cocooned in mist, and as the rain moved closer it was time to close up the book and return to the house. I enjoy re-visiting Glen Prosen from year to year and my Scottish sketchbooks always provide a great source of ideas for paintings.
