Artwork description:

I’ve long been fascinated with surface pattern and tying it in with simple two tone shapes. Here I worked on how to reduce all line and create a whole image into just positive and negative shapes.
In this piece I have brought many of my favourite subject matters such as plants and animals with a few nudes thrown in to make this magical pattern.
At the top of the print there is part of the quote by Sir David Attenborough:
“It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth Living.”
This will be a limited edition of 20 and I will be experimenting with colours and layering as I go along with the print run.
There are only three in this lovely grass green.
Please be aware that as this is a handmade linocut print that there will be slight textural anomalies and marks on the margins of the artwork; to me these are all signs that the piece is handcrafted by the artist and not a digitally enhanced computerised image.

Materials used:

Somerset satin 250gsm and oil based inks
