“Siegfriedje the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is owned by a Belgian family, who commissioned this statue of their beautiful boy after seeing the sculptures of Norah and Martha on my website. He is a smiley, happy dog, and together with his owner I chose a classic sitting pose to take advantage of his excellent sculptural qualities.
His owner was keen to see the progress of the clay at each stage, and I found the work on Siegfriedje’s face the most challenging part, which needed attentiveness, but also a softness in the halo of fur around his head.”
