Observing people in different situations is for me - as a figurative artist - often the starting point from which my paintings are created.
Sometimes I find even seemingly banal situations or poses in which people find themselves inspiring. As is the case with this painting of a sitting young man.
Even this ordinary picture can raise many question marks and story lines in us. Why is he sitting? What is he thinking about? What or who is he looking at? What will happen next? ...and more.
That is one of the goals of my paintings - to encourage the viewer to start working on his imagination and further develop the story depicted in the painting....
