In this painting, I capture the ethereal glow of nightfall. The moon’s soft luminescence contrasts with a richly textured field, rendered through abstract marks of colour and metallic silver, mirrored subtly in the leaves. Each stroke carries a quiet sense of peace and reflection, evoking a tranquil stillness.
Merging elements of impressionism and expressionism, this semi-abstract dreamscape invites viewers into a world of serene contemplation and gentle mystery. Ideal for bringing a sense of calm and introspection into any space.
This unique painting is created using high-quality acrylic paints on deep-edged canvas. The process begins with on-site observation—making notes and capturing photographs to use as reference back in the studio. From these initial studies, I work intuitively: laying down base layers with a brush, then building up texture using impasto techniques applied with a palette knife.
Drawing inspiration from the Impressionists, I employ optical mixing techniques to create depth, vibrancy, and movement. The piece evolves organically, and I continue working until it reaches a natural point of completion.
The painting wraps around the edges of the canvas, giving it a finished look without the need for a frame. It comes ready to hang with a certificate of authenticity.
