Artwork description
The silver skies over silver sand at a small, beach on the Isle of Skye. This long exposure image is one that makes me feel so calm and so lucky to witness a soft beauty that is neither colourful or dramatic but simply reflects the natural beauty of a perfect sky. The gentle curve of the beach bends round towards the rocky beach where dinosaur footprints lie, often unnoticed, under pools of water and sand. On the horizon, the coast of mainland Scotland.
Fine art paper print at 48 x 32 inches with an additional 2 inches white border with the signature, edition and title of the print.
Printed on Canson Arches Aquarelle, one of the most beautiful papers I have ever worked with! Canson Arches Aquarelle has history of this paper goes back centuries. It has a soft structure like a watercolour paper that enhances the image creating a softness and warmth like a watercolour painting.
About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Arches-Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp for their materials only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.
