Silent Power 2-2025 (Horse Head study)
Horse head study drawn in a spontaneous way, on paper collated on board.
There’s something almost architectural in the underlying graphite structures, as if the animal’s presence is born from a memory of land, structure, and instinct.
A gesture of spirit, a layered presence held together by tension, grace, and light.
The ink drawing on the horse's neck is done by my son Filip Antonio Ilinca. Actually, this is one of his many unfinished drawings and I try to integrate them in my drawings when I feel the fusion is appropriate. He is a genius, a master of ink drawing, especially miniatures, completely self-taught. He is 17 years old, but he's already got a large portfolio of great drawings- you can follow his work here:
