Silent Northern Drift is a textured abstract landscape built through layered horizontal movement and restrained, earthy tones. The composition unfolds in bands of deep graphite, muted blue-grey, sand, and warm ochre, creating a quiet dialogue between sky and land.
Multiple layers of paint are applied and partially revealed, allowing underlying tones to emerge through scraping and controlled abrasion. This process creates a sense of depth and subtle motion, as if the surface carries traces of wind, erosion, and passing time. The horizontal structure stabilizes the composition while the broken textures introduce tension and visual rhythm.
The palette is intentionally limited and natural, balancing cool atmospheric greys with grounded, mineral warmth. The result is a contemplative, meditative work that evokes open horizons without describing a specific place.
