This painting of a vintage 1950's dress belonging to an imaginary owner appears to be suspended in an empty room, a ghostly presence from a bygone era, inviting the viewer to make up their own story about the owner and her personality and history.
It was made using layers of textured gesso, watercolours and inks. The painting was then sanded and re-worked with watercolour glazes to evoke a distressed, antique feeling.
