SHIVER OF THE SEA (STUDIO 2)

I captured this image on the Tuscan coast, in the moments when the wind began to thicken the air and the sea lost its last stillness. The light was already low, filtered through a sky that seemed to be holding its breath.

The horizon dissolves almost entirely here. Sea and sky bleed into one continuous field of grey, green and pale silver, held together only by the motion of my hand as I moved with the camera. The water carries a heavier, more physical presence — long streaks of jade and slate folding over themselves, as though the sea were breathing rather than simply moving.

There is no single wave to rest the eye on, no fixed point of calm, only a continuous unfolding. This suspended state interests me because it resists resolution. It is not yet a storm — it is something in between, a tremor that has not decided what it will become.

For me, this image is not about anxiety but about aliveness. The blur, the merging of elements, the loss of a clear horizon — all of it speaks of release rather than disorientation, a letting go of sharpness in favour of feeling.

Shiver of the Sea (studio 2) exists in that quiet, uncertain threshold — the pulse before transformation, caught and held in a single frame.
