Not every bloom wants to be seen first.

This canvas holds several quiet centers of attention rather than one loud focal point — dark violet flowers with gilded hearts, a pale hydrangea cluster, a scatter of small blue petals drifting toward the bottom of the composition. The turquoise ground moves unevenly, brighter in places, greyer in others, like shade shifting under moving branches.

Part of the Shade and Breeze series, this work continues an exploration of cooler light — the kind found in dappled garden shade rather than open sun, where color softens without losing its depth.

There's no single place to rest the eye here, and that's the point — the painting rewards wandering more than it rewards focus.
