Sennen cove at dusk
Special places,
Cornish coast,
Atlantic Ocean,
Thinking back,
Past Christmas holiday.

Words and memories of my experience.
Original impressionist watercolour on hot pressed Fabriano 300gsm 140lb. I crested this watercolour painting seascape from my visual memory and feelings of being there.
The turquoise shades I can’t forget and the alluring , exotic , moody orange light with its charcoal greys, slate blues and earth shades.
I don’t use hot pressed watercolour paper very often, I fancied a change. I felt my colours looked more definite and stronger on the smooth watercolour paper.
I wet the paper and applied the yellow and orange tones with a sable hair brush all over. I then used a sweeping technique for the clouds. You can see I used the cloud colours in the turquoise deep jade ocean.

Materials used:

Hot pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb, sable hair brush, Chinese brushes, Windsor and Newton watercolours,
