Inspired by Jackson Pollock’s words, “Painting is a state of being. Every good artist paints who they are,” this work became a self-portrait in gesture and presence. After the first brush-drawn lines, the process stalled — until the artist returned to painting with her hands. That direct contact between skin, pigment, and raw canvas allowed the composition to unfold organically, with visible traces of movement and pressure shaping the surface.

The stretcher bars appear subtly through the canvas where physical force was applied — a visual element that now belongs to the identity of the piece.
