Original palette knife oil painting of a hidden Balinese cove, seen from above — the kind of view that suddenly opens when a jungle path turns toward the cliff edge. Oil on stretched canvas, 20 × 25 cm (7.9 × 9.8 inches), signed and dated 2026.
I live and work in Bali, and the south coast has these tiny pockets where the jungle drops down to small crescents of white sand. You can't see them from the road. You only find them by walking. This piece is one of those — half memory, half a study from a morning spent above the shoreline.
The whole work is built in heavy impasto: dense tropical green pressing in from both sides, a sweep of pale sand, turquoise water held in thick single strokes. Small intimate scale — works on a bedside shelf, in a small frame on a gallery wall, or grouped with other coastal studies.
