A nearly white, textured plane is positioned beneath the velvety gray top part of the painting, іmoothly moving into the central part, where brushstrokes of ochre and sienna convey the feeling of texture of dry grass. The scene is filled with a subdued tension between day and evening, warmth and cold, revealing endless snow-covered spaces where a lonely orange cloud hovers above them - symbol of future warmth and the coming spring.
