Scotland Glacial Cut (2025) Original Ink Drawing by Steve Potts
16 x 8.5cm (unframed) / 14.4 x 7.5cm (actual image size)
£150
Original artwork description
Small scale ink and wash drawing based on the geology outside Dumfries. The valleys of Scotland carry the marks of glacial action in a way that is still readable if you look for it: the steep-sided, flat-floored U-shapes that ice leaves behind. This drawing is an attempt to respond to that geological record. The mark-making tries to convey something of the force and scale of the original event through the directional movement of the ink.
