Liquidex pro & Golden acrylic colour on Fabriano artistico rough, acid free cotton paper 22 x 30 in., 56 x 76 cm.
Another market scene. Here I hone in on the people, their body language and expression. I want to capture the friendly rapport one experiences in a pleasant open air event such as this market. This is from a friend’s sales table at local farmers market, hence a reference to him in the title.
Now I seek to capture a social scene, close up enough to feel the body language. Then I use a loose approach to applying the color, more expressive and abstract in order to capture movement in the people and interpret the movement all around. I want to capture the moment with a ‘splash’. Everything is there, yet nothing is overly defined, that’s movement.
The richness of colour shows up well on this cotton paper. The result is brilliant.
Close up photos let you see details and brush stroke. Then there’s the work in progress and me with the painting for perspective.
