Original artwork description

This painting was about learning to see. About noticing the small shifts between colours — which green leans closer to blue, which to orange. Every leaf is different. No plant is like another. Some are smooth and hard to touch, like a sansevieria. Others are covered with soft, tiny hairs. The challenge is how to make that visible in paint, without describing too much.

I painted this one from life. A simple still life, a plant on an orange tiny chair. Taking a break from painting complicated compositions to paint a live scene helps to refresh one's mind. It’s also a good exercise in understanding how colour and texture build space, and how light changes everything.

Live still life studies are a good way to practice perception. They teach patience, and how to stay with what’s in front of you.

The painting will be delivered in secure, multi-layered packaging, insured and tracked to ensure its safety during transport. Each work comes with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its originality.
