I had the good fortune to be able to witness the annual Sandhill Crane migration as thousands upon thousands of these magnificent birds overtook the skies above the Platte River in Grand Island, Nebraska where one by one they made a rest stop along the riverbank as we watched in silent awe from the blinds. It was a sight and surrounding sound that I will never forget.
