This reinterpretation preserves the expressive turn of the figure, elongated proportions and spiritual charge characteristic of El Greco, while introducing a more contemporary brushwork and freer chromatic vibration.

The surface features subtle craquelure in the chalk gesso ground — stable and without flaking — adding an aged and authentic character to the work.
