This natural ,unspoilt area of beauty is the rustic dwelling called the 'Blackmore vale'.I gained my inspiration for this watercolour painting from walking down from the hilltop Saxon town called Shaftesbury in North Dorset .When you get to the bottom on the south side of the hill it's warmer and there's a old village called 'St James'.My walk led down a tiny narrow lane called 'French mill lane' -this is one of my favourite areas to live and see the soft rolling hills going on for miles across to the Dorset Gap .
This was the Ephthiny -Twelve night that I will never forget as the sun dropped down the sky was filled with an orange glow and the countryside was rich in earthy ,Monochrome tones.
In my thoughts inspiration flowed and my desire to paint was overwhelming.

Watercolour paints,Chinese bamboo brush,hogs hair brush,textured acid free watercolour paper,water,tinted watercolour paper,
