Original artwork description:

A wonderful walk in the French countryside, a day of heat and joy and blossom. It is quiet, so quiet I am aware of my own breathing, and yet the air teems with life. Bird song, crickets, the distant cries of sheep. I cross a small hamlet, houses of white stone, with wooden shutters faded over decades of scorching heat and raw winters. I spot a small cottage, where roses are blooming, beautiful roses, wild and heavy, their petals warm to touch, their scent as luxuriant as perfume. This work is a celebration of summer, a wonderful gift and a perfect addition to an collection.
Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
