In timeless tranquility the stone knight effigy rests amongst rioting and bountiful rose blossoms. The arching brambles tangle around as nature reclaims all that is hers. In prayer for the afterlife the knight's sword weilds no more and dreams of past crusades fade as the roses crowd around...

A romantic composition that I created to evoke the beauty and contrast of a knight's stone effigy amongst a throng of roses to express poignancy for past glories and future blossoming.

This is an original oil painting created with the best Michael Harding professional artist quality oils. I prepared the solid beechwood block panel with 3 coats of Micahel Harding ground and sanded each layer in between to create a superbly fine eggshell finish on which to apply my oil brushstrokes. Over several months I built up the subtle feature and contours of his alabaster face and body with armoured gloves and helmet.

This would be a divine addition to the gothic space - adding a stirring presence to your home.
