Original artwork description
The watercolor painting "Romance at night. Little Venice, the city of Chioggia" was painted based on my sketches and photographs following my 2019 plein air travel in Italy.
A few kilometers from Venice is the city of Chioggia, which is popularly called "Little Venice" due to the fact that it is very similar to Venice, the same boats and canals, bridges and architecture.
The city is very beautiful and inspiring. On that day, I rode a bike for a hundred kilometers and reached the city of Chioggia late in the evening when the city lights were already burning picturesquely illuminating the bridges. I tried to convey my first impression in this work using paints on paper.
The work was painted by professional watercolors Maimeri Blu on 100% cotton watercolor paper 300 g/m2, which guarantees the durability of the preservation of the work under proper storage conditions, decorated under glass.
