This painting was produced a few years ago on a particularly good bluebell season. The wood is part of a nature reserve in southern Hampshire, England, managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. The Bluebell is a plant which is one of the ancient wood indicators and is one of the glories of English woodlands in the spring. The little Roe deer in the middle ground looks surprised to see anyone in his wood. The frame is light brown wood with a gold and grey slip which suits the painting.
