Artwork description
*Low Stock* Eight out of Nine of these linocuts are now sold. The remaining linocut is currently being exhibited. Please get in touch if you are interested in it.
A reduction linocut of bright red poppies. I spotted them growing on a roadside verge on a beautiful sunny day and couldn't resist capturing them. I was particularly drawn to the shape of all the curving stems on the poppy buds and the brightness of the red petals with the summer light shining through them.
A reduction print is a relief print formed with layers of colour that are cut and printed from the same block, in this case, from lino. This is one of a small edition of prints, all of which are printed by hand so small variations occur between them making each one truly original.
This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean. The mounted work will fit straight into a standard off-the-shelf 12x16inch frame.
This artwork will be packaged in a bubble envelope with plenty of card support for safety.
