I took my plein air group out early morning to Lily’s garden. She has 2 acres of gardens that she has planted surrounded by river and forests. I decided to set up by the river where it was cooler and in perfect light. In this painting I have captured the light as the sun shines through the trees, across the river. I added the violet flowers in the foreground with the many beautiful ferns that cascade around the water. The background of pastel trees and plants gives the illusion of grandeur and depth.
