River Cerne blossoms, Dorset
The wild pink cherry plum trees,
Beautiful to see in early March,
As I take a stroll through the magical Minterne gardens,
In the deep chalk valley,
I am in a Winter paradise.

Words and feelings .
Original impressionist watercolour on bockingford extra rough textured watercolour paper 425gsm 200lb.
I used a wet on wet technique for the watercolour washes. Then a baseline technique for the river bank. I wanted an ethereal effect for the blossom trees. Then left the painting for awhile not touching it just looking and deciding what I would do for the foreground.
Then I began to create the patterns and different colours for the water. Dragging the paint in an upward motion using my wonderful chinese brushes. I also pressed the paint on and mark making. When all the foreground was dry I went over with the same colours I used for the blossoms in the river to enhance..
Signed on the front and back of painting.
Certificate of Authenticity.
A personal handwritten poem.

Materials used:

Cold pressed extra rough textured watercolour paper bockingford 425gsm 200lb., Chinese brushes, filbert brush, Windsor and Newton watercolours,
