New Year’s Eve, with the fire nicely crackling. Then, as if by magic, figures emerge from the crackling flames. Magical! Let yourself be carried away and simply feel free and happy, far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The figures have settled randomly on the canvas, like a scene from a film montage, the echo of a fleeting daydream.
Our relationship to fire has always been ambivalent: fascination, warmth and the preparation of food stand opposed the catastrophic scenario off destruction.
However, this painting conjures the contemplation associated with watching flames that have been tamed. Open fire meditation, similar like meditation by waves and clouds.
