Resurrection (2025) Original Oil Painting by Lilith Gurekhian

£2,151.52

I titled this painting “Resurrection”, as it speaks of rebirth not in the physical sense, but on a spiritual level.
The two figures flowing into one another embody continuity of life and the rediscovery of inner strength.
The woman, with her closed eyes, symbolizes devotion and silent trust, while the man—his gaze direct and profound—appears as awakened consciousness.
Their elongated forms resemble the movement of water, where nothing ends but transforms into something new.

Shades of blue convey eternity, while the soft pink highlights bring hope. These two figures can be seen as a dialogue between parts of my inner self: one resting, the other alive and looking forward. For me, Resurrection is the moment when the human soul overcomes the weight of loss and returns to life in a new form.

Resurrection—not of the body, but of the soul.
