Reflections in Parallel is an original contemporary abstract diptych from my Oceanic Geometry collection, created in 2026. This one-of-a-kind set of two acrylic paintings explores the invisible dialogue between architecture, water, and light, transforming the rhythm of the coastline into a language of geometry, texture, and reflection.
While creating this diptych, I imagined a quiet marina where contemporary architecture disappears into still water. Strong vertical forms become structural anchors, while horizontal reflections dissolve into the horizon. Rather than depicting the sea itself, I translated its calm rhythm into balanced geometric compositions where every line, texture, and reflection contributes to a feeling of openness and harmony.
Although each painting stands as an independent artwork, together they create a wider architectural landscape. The compositions mirror one another through rhythm and proportion, inviting the eye to travel naturally across both canvases while discovering new relationships between structure and atmosphere.
The paintings were created through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint using palette knives, brushes, scraping techniques, and expressive gestural mark-making. Rich textured surfaces preserve every stage of the creative process, producing remarkable depth and subtle tonal variations that continue to evolve as natural light changes throughout the day.
A sophisticated palette of ivory white, soft blue, pale grey, charcoal black, deep navy, warm beige, and earthy brown creates a timeless contemporary atmosphere. Cool blue tones evoke open water and expansive skies, while darker architectural forms suggest piers, waterfront structures, and quiet reflections. The restrained colour palette creates an elegant balance between serenity and strength, making the diptych equally suited to contemporary residential and architectural spaces.
Although entirely abstract, Reflections in Parallel often recalls modern harbours, luxury marinas, coastal architecture, reflective waterfronts, and distant horizons. Existing between geometric abstraction and atmospheric landscape, the artwork encourages personal interpretation while conveying stillness, spatial balance, and refined sophistication.
Designed as a statement artwork, this panoramic diptych is ideal for contemporary living rooms, dining areas, luxury residences, boutique hotels, executive offices, reception spaces, yacht interiors, and modern architectural environments. The elegant neutral palette integrates beautifully into Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist, coastal contemporary, industrial, and luxury interior design.
Created as a one-of-a-kind original, Reflections in Parallel continues my exploration of the hidden geometry shared by architecture and nature, where reflection becomes structure and silence becomes part of the composition.
The artwork is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and ships in a tube. This method is particularly safe for oversized works and ensures lower transport costs. Rolled works may be easily stretched upon arrival (placed on wooden stretchers for canvases) and/or framed by a local framer.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or for more information about the artwork, commissions, or shipping.
