On this instance, Gabo Mendoza has used a paper weaver as his canvas to include his Mexican roots in the homage, the work is mounted on canvas. Many Mexican handcrafts are of corn weaver.

With his particular childlike-naive style he tries to pay respect to an artist who also advocates change through his art. Gabo wants to be a voice for the social cause. He tries to speak up for those who can't specially for abused children as he has been coaching them for years.

No matter how childlike in appearance, Gabo's art aims to be a pictorial representation of a discipline that exists in a world of children that should be surrounded by innocence rather than fear and nightmares of abuse.
