When painting the figure I am primarily concerned with the juxtapositions of colours; and the emotion they evoke in the viewer. As the artist, I have already experienced this emotion during the painting process This is a reclining female nude painted in an abstract expressionist manner. In larger pieces like this; I like to work quickly. Once the model is posing I will quickly choose my view but will make no preliminary sketches. All experiential work happens during the painting process. The flattened appearance is deliberate with no shadows or attempt to create background space. This gives it the intentional appearance of a poster.

This painting will be shipped on the stretcher securely in a reinforced envelope.
All paintings are shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
