Portrayal of the intricate textural beauty of coral reefs and sea anemones have always been inspiring!
This artwork has a heavy relief texture inspired by the beautiful coral reefs underwater. All the textural elements are individually handcut, carved and modelled using repurposed plastics and assembled on a canvas.
Coral reefs are the largest living structures, which are are now facing the biggest threat due to global warming and climate change. And is giving out their call for survival. The corals are in endosymbiotic relationship with the algae which supply energy for them. But these algae is being killed by the temperature raise in ocean water.
I started doing upcycled artworks after a pledge to work for a greener planet. Found and collected single-use plastics with different textures are upcycled to get unique textures on my artworks. So by collecting one of my original works you are indirectly becoming part of my art journey for a cause.
The artwork is is a triptych with 3 circular canvases, each of dimension 20 cm diameter. The art will come ready to hang. It could be installed in various ways and on any wall space to add a vibrant and contemporary vibe. Certificate of authenticity will be attached.
