'Ravana Waterfall and Ella Rock'

Size 16 x 12 inches (42 x 30 cm).

Ella Rock Mountain lies in the small Ella Town. The height of the Ella Rock is 1,141 m (3,743 ft). The Ella Town is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. Ella Rock was an observation point for British administrators and surveyors during the British colonial period. It is believed that the rock has ties to ancient legends and folklore. Stories of mythical beings and ancient battles add a touch of mystique to this natural wonder.

The Ravana waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height. The falls have been named after the legendary king Ravana, who is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to legend, it is said that Ravana had kidnapped a princess Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind this waterfall. The reason for the kidnapping is said to be exact revenge for slicing off the nose of his sister by Rama (husband of Sita).
