RAPHAEL is an imaginary portrait of one of the archangels, painted in acrylic on cotton canvas.
From the Hebrew: refa-: 'to heal' and -El: 'God', he is mentioned in the Old Testament as the archangel of healing, a powerful guardian angel.
A spiritual work, this painting is part of the Alchemists series. Like all the saints in this series, he wears a kind of golden net over his hair, as if from a mythical Egyptian universe.
His gentle eyes exude the candour and light of an extraordinary being endowed with unwavering willpower and kindness.
