Original artwork description
Painted on-site along Lake Nokomis Parkway in Minneapolis, in oil over casein paint. Features a maple tree with a full, rounded shape, with leaves transitioning through autumn colors. The green leaves of the very bottom branches are covered in afternoon shadows and appear a deep, dark shade of green. The leaves on the top and middle branches are red and orange, shot through with highlights of bright yellow and pink, for a full spectrum of colors in one tree.
Painted in oil over casein paint on board, using both brush and palette knife. The soft, matte textured background of casein paint makes a striking contrast against the thick, textured oil paint of the foliage.
Comes framed in a 1" wide frame with a wood grain texture and a black finish. May also be purchased unframed.
