Rainbow Hydrangea II holds two ideas at once.
The rainbow palette carries the diversity of the world — every colour has its place. Pink and magenta clusters at the top, cream and white in the middle, teal, cobalt and yellow at the bottom.
The drips carry impermanence — flowers already changing while I paint them, nothing stays where it was placed. Vertical drips fall from the blooms to the canvas edge.
Both belong to one idea: only a changing world is wide enough to hold every colour at once.
Palette-knife on cotton canvas, built over several sessions in Bali. The surface holds real 3D texture — heads stand off the canvas in individual florets, each catching light differently at different times of day. The sides of the canvas are painted so the composition continues around the edge — the work is ready to hang as it is, no frame needed.
The 70 × 50 cm vertical format works above a sofa, over a low console, above a bed headboard, or as a single centrepiece on a wide wall. The palette (magenta, pink, cobalt, teal, cream, yellow) pairs with cream, warm wood, moody plaster, and jewel-tone interiors — reads well in modern contemporary, transitional, and feminine-luxury rooms.
