Quiet Reflections (2024)Monoprint by Rebecca Vincent

A unique handmade artwork in monotype, with collage adding an extra dimension. The stark winter trees lean gracefully over their rippling reflections in the water, expressing a feeling of peaceful contemplation. As if frozen in a moment of quiet reflection, the leaning trees evoke a sense of bending time. This piece will bring a calm contemporary look to your home.

A monotype is a one-off hand-made print, just as unique as a painting. I used rollers and dabbers to spread out ink on a smooth plastic board then made marks with a cloth and other tools. The ink was transferred to the paper using a hand-operated printing press. I built up layers of over-lapping colous by printing several times. I used paper stencils to make the crisp edges and thin printed paper to collage the dark trees.

This piece will be supplied with pencil marks showing where to place a window mount to cover the edges.

Unmounted: It comes wrapped in tissue and plastic. It's dispatched rolled in a wide strong tube, suitable for international shipping with FedEx

Materials used:

Oil-based artist quality ink on Rives BFK cotton rag paper, printed kozo paper for collage with archival glue.
