Sometimes the best ideas arrive unexpectedly.

I spent a few days with a friend's French Bulldog, and before long, he had completely won me over.

He was unlike any dog I had ever met—calm, self-assured and wonderfully relaxed. During the grey winter days, he wore his little designer hoodie as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Then he would sit down, perfectly still, making tiny snorting and grumbling sounds, almost as if he were quietly commenting on life.

He could stay in the same pose for ages.

Like a top model.

There was something wonderfully human about him. Without trying, he carried himself with the confidence of a fashion icon or an ancient statue, completely unaware of the impression he made.

I couldn't resist painting him.

This artwork is more than a portrait of a dog. It is a celebration of quiet confidence, unexpected joy, and the small encounters that stay with us long after they are over. Sometimes the strongest presence comes from simply being yourself.

Acrylic & Oil on canvas
